President & CEO
Industry veteran and former Nortel senior executive, John Vice brings more than 30 years of telecommunications experience to Kodiak Networks. His extensive background includes working in a variety of functional areas which make him particularly suited to leading the Kodiak team. John brings a unique, broad understanding of the mobile communications industry, as well as, extensive hands-on experience in the development and deployment of mobile solutions.
Before joining Kodiak, John had been a strategic management and investment consultant to companies ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 size corporations. He also served as CEO for Geyser Networks, Inc., a privately held supplier of optical network systems in Sunnyvale, Calif. John also had a distinguished, 19-year career at Nortel Networks, where he advanced to President and General Manager, Mobility Solutions, in Richardson, Texas.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Western Ontario and a master’s degree in business administration with a marketing concentration from McMaster University.
Chief Technology Officer, EVP Engineering, Co-Founder
Kris Patel has more than 20 years of experience and thought leadership in wireless, VoIP, broadband and Voice networks. Kris has led the design, development and deployment of carrier class systems around the world. His extensive qualifications stem from all facets of project lifecycle development, from initial feasibility analysis and conceptual design through documentation, implementation, user training and enhancements. Kris is a proven organizational leader, team builder and project manager.
Prior to Kodiak, Kris was Vice President of Engineering at XYBridge Technologies Inc. Kris has delivered systems to NTT DoCoMo and Verizon Wireless and is well-versed in leading teams across two continents.
Kris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics from B.V.M. in V.V. Nagar, India and a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Chief Product Officer, EVP Marketing, Co-Founder
Bruce Lawler brings over 20 years of telecommunications experience in fixed wireless, satellite, and terrestrial local and wide area networks. Bruce was a founding partner of inOvate Communications Group, and led the company’s investments in Danger, Rosum Corporation and Kodiak Networks. In addition, he served as the Network Operations Center (NOC) program manager for AT&T Wireless Services where he gained intimate knowledge of carrier operations.
Bruce received his Bachelors of Science in Engineering degree from Purdue University and holds Masters degrees in Engineering and Business from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Daniel Getty, CPA, CGMA
Chief Financial Officer
Daniel Getty brings nearly 20 years of international accounting and financial management experience to Kodiak Networks. Daniel is responsible for all aspects of Kodiak's accounting and financial operations and takes an active leadership role in financings, business modeling, sales compensation as well as customer and partner deal-making.
Daniel served as Kodiak's Corporate Controller from inception through September 2008. Prior to Kodiak, Daniel held management positions at a variety of technology-focused companies, including VP & Controller of inOvate Communications Group and Accounting Manager of Investment Technology Group (NYSE: ITG). Daniel began his career at KPMG, were he served the world's premier financial institutions, including Citigroup, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank. Daniel earned the position of Senior Manager at KPMG while working in the firm's New York, Taipei and Frankfurt offices.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, with a concentration in Finance, from Binghamton University.
Vice President, Architecture & R&D
Ravi has more than 20 years of software design, development, execution experience on architecture, network, VoIP protocols, mobile phones, and other products. Ravi has authored several patents in wireless communication. Prior to Kodiak, Ravi led engineering projects at Zone Technologies for soft switch development. Ravi also worked in Indian Space Research Organization as a scientist. Ravi earned his Masters degree from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
Dr. Giridhar Boray
Vice President & Country Manager, Kodiak Networks India
Giridhar has more than 25 years experience in mobile communications industry and started the India Centre of Kodiak in 2003. Prior to Kodiak, Giridhar held leadership positions in Santera (acquired by Genband), and Celcore (acquired by Alcatel). Previously, he headed the Mobile Broadband Consulting group at Nortel. He has authored several patents. Giridhar received BSEE from Bangalore University, MSEE from Purdue University and PhD from SMU, Dallas.
Vice President, North American Sales
John brings over 20 years of telecommunications expertise to Kodiak, including an extensive sales background in wireless mobility, cloud based services, broadband, wireless, and enterprise. He has a proven track record of closing business with top-tier carriers. John has worked for a number of well-known organizations start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. He completed Executive Sales Management at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York.
Juan L. Gutierrez
Vice President, Regional Sales Caribbean & Latin America (CALA)
Juan L. Gutierrez has spent over 25 years in the telecommunications industry working with start-ups and large multi-national corporations. He joins Kodiak after spending a significant portion of his career at Nortel Networks, AT&T, and others in a variety of sales, marketing, and engineering roles. Juan has extensive experience in the CALA region, having held long-term job assignments in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile with Nortel.
Juan graduated Cum Laude with a BSEE from the University of Miami. He also holds a MBA degree from Saint Mary’s College based in Moraga, CA.
Vice President, Business Development & Global Alliances
Tim Hall has nearly 20 years of experience working with Fortune 500 and start-up companies in the wireless, tele/data communications, and security industries. His management career has included key marketing, sales and business development positions for leading hardware and software companies including ITT Industries, UB Networks (now Alcatel Lucent), Adaptec, Terayon (now Motorola), and Portal Software (now Oracle). Before joining Kodiak Networks, Tim was VP, Sales and Services for Asia and Japan at Narus, where he successfully partnered and sold security and mediation software to some of Asia’s largest telecommunications providers including KDDI, NEC and Korea Telecom.
A graduate of Santa Clara University with a B.S. degree, Tim also holds a management certificate from the Wharton Business School.
Vice President, Channel Marketing
Brent joined Kodiak in 2014 bringing nearly 20 years of Marketing, Product Management and Sales experience. Previously with Sprint Nextel, Brent was responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategies in the customer acquisition and retention B2B space. Most notably, Brent and his marketing teams launched several significant product lines key to Sprint’s strategic initiatives, including Sprint’s 4G platform as well as Sprint Nextel’s next generation push-to-talk platform. In parallel to launching next generation PTT, Brent also led the vital iDEN migration strategy in conjunction with the sunsetting of the Nextel National iDEN platform in 2012, resulting in the retention of millions of customers. Brent earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Marketing from Kansas State University.
Vice President, Product Management
Sanjay is an experienced, hands-on and proven technology leader in wireless and broadband communications. He has successfully built and managed teams through the different facets of the product lifecycle. His previous experience includes companies such as Nortel, Samsung Telecommunications, Motorola Devices as well as startups Raze Technologies and Spatial Wireless. Sanjay graduated with a Master’s degree in EECS from University of Michigan.
Vice President, Engineering
Gora has over 19 years of industry experience in software engineering, development, and delivery management. He has been with Kodiak Networks since its inception and contributed in technology foundation and core architecture of its Push-to-Talk platform, earning him several patents. Gora holds a M.Tech degree in Telecommunication Engineering from IIT, Kanpur and a Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering degree from Jadavpur University in Calcutta.
Vice President, Major Accounts
Dave joined Kodiak in 2007 and now leads a dedicated team focused on growing our partnership with AT&T, one of Kodiak’s largest and most successful customers. Dave’s background covers over 20 years in wireless with roles of increasing responsible in engineering, marketing and sales. Dave earned a Bachelor of Science from University of Texas at Dallas and an MBA from the University of Dallas.
Vice President, Major Accounts
Bill joined the Kodiak team in 2013 and brings with him over 30 years of extensive and versatile Telecommunications expertise. Bill’s career includes experience in the areas of Operations, Customer Service, Project Management and Sales through an extended period of 24 years with Nortel Networks and Ericsson Inc. His broad knowledge of both Wireline and Wireless technology through various responsibilities within these two major telecommunication companies has made him an effective leader throughout his tenure at both. Bill’s experience in the Push-to-Talk realm has been highlighted through an extended period of selling iDEN switching infrastructure worldwide and has continued that trend as a Sales leader at Kodiak. Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, where he graduated Cum Laude from North Carolina State University.
Vice President, Advanced Technology
Bujji has over 20 years telecommunications experience and holds numerous patents. Bujji guided Kodiak’s entry into its adoption of the OMA PoC standard and continues to lead product evolution. Prior to Kodiak, Bujji held a variety of operational and engineering roles at Spatial Wireless, Samsung, Motorola and Nortel. He holds an MS in Computer Science from University of Texas at Dallas and an MBA from XLRI, India.
